Cat vs Cafe (70/30)
Living Large: Review of Cats Living
Add this cafe to your list because it gets bonus points for having major cuddlers!
Located near Hapjeong metro (Line 2 & 6) and Hongik University in a busy Hongdae shopping area, Cats Living offers a break from the crowds with some quiet moments around some fur babies.
I headed to this cafe sans my constant travel companion and upon entering the facility, noticed it was very clean and nicely decorated, however, was disappointed that it had a hint of cat urine odor. I paid my 8000 won ($7.16) entrance fee which came with a free drink; I ordered a lemonade from the attendant who was pleasant, but not particularly personable.
Once seated, a cat immediately leapt into my lap which made me feel like a rock star! She promptly fell asleep and I spent the better part of the next hour enjoying a purring feline in my arms. Alas, I had to wake her up so I could take some photos of the other cats, but it was a rare luxury to have such a relaxing experience. The only other patrons were two young ladies in the other wing of the cafe, so I truly felt alone with the twelve or so kitties.
The social nature of the cafe's cats is the main draw here as well as the quiet location. If you are in need of a break from the chaos that is Seoul, pop in for a bit of soul soothing.
